Mrs. West announced on her blog today that she’s eating her own placenta to avoid postpartum depression. The star of KUWTK, freeze-dried, encapsulated her placenta and revealed that every time she eats it she feels healthier, happier and energized.
New moms who eat their own placentas claim that the organ helped them heal faster, avoid the baby blues, and increased their breast milk supply by regulating their hormones and filling their bodies with iron. Placentophagy is not scientifically proven, but it has become a thing among the stars the last couple of years.
January Jones, Kourtney Kardashian, Alicia Silverstone, Kim Zolciak, Holly Madison, Mayim Bialik and Tamera Mowery are among the celebs that have eaten the organ either raw or in capsules. Yuck! Call us non-natural people, but we think you can get those “amazing”benefits by eating a healthy postpartum diet. Period.
